About Us
At Shalom Support Services, our mission is to provide person centered support and care for adults from the age of 18 who have mild, moderate or severe learning disabilities and mental health problems and other conditions who sometimes display behaviour that other people may find challenging. We provide both supported living and floating support. We support, enable and empower people to live their lives to the full.
All our supported living services are registred and inspected by Care Quality Commision (CQC). This means they are high quality, safe and reliable. We are currently rated GOOD in all areas. Our latest CQC inspection report can be viewed here.
At Shalom Community Support Services we start from the principle that people with learning disabilities or mental health problems have the same fundamental rights as anyone else in society, which includes the right to develop and make informed choices about their lives.
We actively promote equality and diversity within our organization, both in our staff and the support we give others.
Our current supported living schemes are based in Rainham, Essex.

We endeavour to create an environment in which our clients can retain their identity, dignity, privacy and personal choice as individual, in a safe environment and in circumstances that support their, psychological, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
Our Philosophy
Shalom Community Support services will respect the individual; safeguard their dignity, and rights with no prejudice in self or others irrespective of origin, race, religion, status, sex, sexual orientation, age or disability.
Our Aims & Objectives
We aim to provide highest quality accommodation and support in pleasant and homely environments. The support services we provide is customised to the needs of each individual tenant and will therefore vary according to presenting needs and the agreed support plan.
Our support work/plans take into account gender, religious beliefs, cultural background, sexual orientation, disabilities, tenant’s choice, tenant’s rights, fair access, tenant’s goals and aspirations. Our support work is underpinned by the principles of recovery, growth, independence, social inclusion and improving the quality of life of our tenants.
Our support work is delivered through a method of education, encouragement and enablement through the processes of needs and risk assessment, support planning, key work sessions, therapeutic engagement, tenant and management feedback sessions, house meetings and other forms of user consultations.
Our Staff
Support workers are either specific qualified and experienced or have strong inclination and potential to work with our tenants.
Each tenant will be allocated a support worker who will take specific case responsibly, under their supervision of the person in charge
All members of staff will if appropriate contribute to the assessment and implementation of the support plan for all tenants.
Provision of staff training and development will be the responsibility of Shalom Community Care Services Ltd.
